Children & Families Leader Wanted

THIS APPLICATION IS NOW CLOSED

St Thomas Children and Families Leader: working with parents to see a generation love Jesus and his church, learn his plans, laugh with each and develop a life-long personal faith.

St Thomas is a thriving and growing city church in the centre of Norwich, serving both the city and the county of Norfolk. We are part of the wider network of Holy Trinity Brompton, our vicar Ian Dyble having arrived at St Thomas’ from London just two years ago. In September (2015) we will be entering our third year of growth and development, expanding to a second City site. We are still at a relatively early stage in building and developing our church identity, mission and family and it is an exciting time to join the team.

Our children’s ministries are at the heart of our church life, as we continue to build a fun, diverse, energetic church family. We have some brilliant volunteers who are helping us achieve our vision to make church a highlight in our children’s weeks. We want St Thomas’ to provide a place where children:

LOVE – know the love of God through Jesus and develop new and lasting friendships
LAUGH – have fun with games, music, small groups, craft, sport, food and stories
LIVE – work out what living God’s way looks like
LEARN – learn more about God through biblical, creative and age appropriate groups and worship

The role of the children’s leader will be to oversee, develop and co-ordinate all areas of children and families ministries. These currently include:

  • Sunday Services Groups (0’s-11’s)
  • Midweek Groups (Noah’s Boat)
  • Praise Parties (two per term)
  • Schools workshops and outreach (assemblies & RE assistance for local primary schools)
  • Participation in MOLO (Parent and toddler group), Connect Families, family services and special services (e.g. Christmas Nativity and Easter)

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated children’s leader who is confident in managing and growing teams of volunteers, who is able to cast vision, deliver age-appropriate programmes and syllabuses, who will enjoy working as part of the church’s leadership team and is able to engage and communicate well with parents and the wider local community.

Salary: 18K, full time post
