Who Cares: About Injustice
In this Harvest Family Service talk, Dave contrasts the approach of the drama’s profit-at-any-costs garment-maker Fabio with God’s stipulation that we are not to reap to the edge of our field at harvest time. We should, instead, leave a corner for the poor and the foreigner residing among us. God cares about injustice, and his greatest act of care was to give his corner Jesus for the poor, the foreigner, and for us.
22 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am theLord your God.’”
1 John 4:9-10
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
